A BARRY woman is appealing for information which may solve the mystery of a more than a century-old cup needing its rightful owner.

The woman, who did not want to be named, said the trophy had been discovered in a High Street, Barry, shop’s cellar and she hoped the real owner’s family would come forward to claim the prize.

The cup bears the inscription: “Pavillion Skating Rink Tonypandy. One Mile Amateur Championship. Won by W J Charles September 1910.”

She said: “I want to give it back to the owner or their family. It’s just sitting in my house.”

If you believe you know the origins of the cup, or who may be the owner, call the Barry & District News on 01446 704979.
