GAVIN and Stacey star Ruth Jones has been awarded an MBE in recognition of her services to entertainment.
Writer and actress Ruth Jones has had a hugely successful career over the last few years.
One of the highlights so far has been the popular sitcom Gavin and Stacey, which she co-wrote and starred in with James Corden
The programme, largely filmed in Penarth, Dinas Powys and Barry, lasted for three series and a Christmas special.
Since then Ruth Jones has also gone on to write and star in Welsh-valleys based comedy Stella, with parts of some episodes also filmed in Penarth.
