A BARRY grandmother is appealing for the return of her doormat after a thief pulled the Christmas gift from under her feet.
70-year-old Melody Ataou, of Green Lane, off Coldbrook Road East, Cadoxton said she thought the unwanted guest had removed the brown coarse Welcome mat, from her property, sometime over the weekend.
Her daughter had bought it for her as a Christmas present.
Melody said: “It’s the pettiness of the crime – it had welcome on it, but it didn’t mean you are welcome to it.”
“If anyone has seen it lying around, I would like it back.”
Melody said she was now using her old doormat which she hadn’t yet thrown out.
