Pupils speak clearly on issues

A BARRY-BASED school engaged in a speaking civil war after it was the only school to voice its opinion in a Rotary Public Speaking competition.
Ysgol Bro Morgannwg pupils competed in the Rotary Youth Speaks public speaking contest, at the school, on December 10.
Junior best speaker was Arwel Thomas, best chairwoman Llinos Jones, and best vote of thanks Twm Aled
Senior honours went to, Lois Aled for best speaker, Leah Robinson best chairwoman and Nia Brown best vote of thanks.
The winning teams will now go on to the next round.
The juniors – Brennig Davies, Tirion Davies a Llinos Jones – asked if society and the media was defining our gender identities and the seniors – Lois Aled, Nia Brown, and Nia Fenn -chose the topic Is it time for us to stop ‘horsing around’? Should we be searching for new meat alternatives in the wake of the horsemeat scandal?
