CONSTRUCTORS behind a Barry development project have held an open day while they do their best Lord Sugar impressions and search for an apprentice.
Jehu Project Services welcomed visitors to the former Barry magistrates court site, Thompson Street, Barry, on Thursday (December 19) and announced it was seeking to hire.
The Newydd Housing Association development, when finished, will consist of 52 apartments, six houses and three retail units.
Site manager Nyron Wood said workers wanted to involve the community in the project which he estimated would be completed by February 2015.
He said land was currently being levelled on the B block, of the three, and that construction was straightforward with the retaining wall the hardest part.
Construction opportunities co-ordinator Bernie Mark said there would also be opportunities for bricklayer and carpentry apprenticeships to suitably qualified candidates from the local area with interviews held in January.
