A DISH out dosh project has helped fund a Cadoxton Youth Project Christmas meal for local residents.

The project provides money for groups that involve young volunteers in the Vale.

Project volunteers served up a three-course multi cultural meal offering Halal and vegetarian options.

One resident said: “The food was beautiful and the meal was hot which is always important and I was very pleased with the service.

“When is the next one?”

Organiser Rita Limbrick said: “I am grateful that the dish out dosh panel helped me to run this successful event in the church for residents.

“These are the things that I love to do. I hope that dish out dosh will continue to support me in putting on events like these on a regular basis in the future. I thank all the people who attended and all the volunteers involved – and looking forward to Christmas Day when we will be giving out food bags and providing a finger buffet to local residents.”

Dish out dosh panel member JJ Cullinane said “The feedback from volunteers and residents was fantastic, Rita is an inspirational lady and I am pleased that the panel made the decision to fund such a worthwhile project.”

Vale AM Jane Hutt attended the event at Cadoxton Methodist church and presented £300 cheques, raised by Cadoxton Youth Project, to Cardiff YMCA homeless, Barry 11 Sea Scouts, Marie Curie Penarth Ty Hafan and Cadoxton Nursery school.

The next event will be on Christmas Day at Cadoxton Methodist Church on Christmas Day from 2pm to 4pm.

A finger buffet and food bags will be provided to local residents free of charge. Any leftovers will be distributed locally.
