TWO Barry men have been charged with drug offences after warrants were executed across the Vale.

The South Wales Police drugs team raided a number of addresses in the Vale and Bridgend resulting in three charges being brought.

David Prosser, 42, of Barry has been charged with possession of class B drugs with intent to supply. He has been released on bail.

Mark Norman, 39, of Barry has been charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply. He has been remanded in custody.

A third man, Adrian Hawkins, 47, of Bridgend was charged with being in possession of class C drugs and CS spray. He has been released on bail.

Detective Sergeant Julian Kerslake of the central drugs team said: "This activity has been executed as part of our continuing commitment to tackling drugs and responding to the concerns of the communities of Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan.

"Drug misuse and supply will not be tolerated and anyone found using or supplying illegal substances will be dealt with accordingly.

"I hope this recent activity will encourage further members of the community to come forward and report drug misuse in their area so that we can take action."

A police spokesman said: "South Wales Police also works closely with landlords, management agencies and the local councils to try and stop this activity by providing evidence which could result in a tenancy being terminated.

"Local neighbourhood officers will continue to ensure that communities do not have to suffer from these types of issues."

Anyone with information regarding drug use or supply in their community can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
