PUPILS and staff at All Saints Church in Wales Primary School celebrated the countdown to Christmas with a crazy festive jumper day.

The whole school were invited to wear their worst and wackiest Christmas jumpers, with money taken going to Save the Children.

This Christmas sees mixed emotions at the school, however, as popular head teacher Richard Ware has announced he will be retiring at the end of term.

Mr Ware has been head teacher for 22 years and has presided over many improvements, including an extensive building programme which has seen the school almost double in size.

He said: "I am looking forward to my retirement but I will really miss the buzz of being head teacher.

"I am extremely proud of the school's achievements, successful results and sector-leading status.

"My heartfelt thanks to all staff, pupils, parents, governors and helpers, both past and present, who have helped to make All Saints the successful establishment it is today. I wish the school a happy and successful future."
