THE woman who died in a road traffic collision on the road between St Athan and Cowbridge last weekend has been named as Jenny Barrett, 74, from Cowbridge.

Her family has paid the following tribute to her: "Jenny was a lively, bright, outgoing and independent lady who made the most of her retirement. She was a keen bridge player and a member of U3A.

“Jenny was a much loved mother, great grandmother and ‘Manga’ to four beautiful grandchildren.

“The incident is unbearably sudden and our loss is indescribable."

South Wales Police is continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the incident which occurred between 5pm on Saturday, November 30, and 11.35am on Sunday, December 1.

A green Ford Fiesta motor car was travelling along St Athan Road when it left the road.

South Wales Police wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicle which had travelled from the Barry area on the evening of Saturday, November 30, and who has not yet given their details to the police.
