A £120,000 state-of-the-art play area has been officially opened with co-creators Barry Island Primary the first to walk through the gate.
Maslin Park is also now complete with multi-area ball court, thanks to a Vale Council regeneration project.
The new play equipment can be used by toddlers and juniors with teens catered for with the multi-court area where they’ll be able to practice basketball and football amongst other sports.
Specialist play equipment and design company, Wicksteed Leisure, which has been designing and installing playgrounds since 1918, carried out the revamp with work completed on schedule ready for half term.
Barry Island Primary pupils helped select play equipment and were involved with the overall planning and the design.
The buddy board and the pirate ship were an instant hit.
