VALE AM Jane Hutt is delighted to hear that, thanks to the pioneering efforts of Myrtle Lawrence, a Mesothelioma Support Group has been established in Barry. The nurse in charge, Naomi Horne, was introduced to the group on October 25, in the Barry Civic Offices.
Mesothelioma, a form of cancer, is found especially in those who have been exposed to asbestos in their working lives. Jane Hutt AM greeted those whose lives have been affected by mesothelioma and welcomed Naomi Horne and the other speakers.
Jane Hutt said: “I was honoured to attend the opening of the Mesothelioma Support Group and it was very encouraging to see the support of Myrtle Lawrence transformed into a real achievement.”
