Teacher up for award

A BARRY school will be glued to their television screens when former teacher Joanna Parslow features in the Pearson Teaching Awards this Sunday, October 20.
Ms Parslow is competing for the title of Outstanding New Teacher having won the regional title in Wales.
Joanne will represent Wales at the national awards ceremony at London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and the ceremony will also be broadcast on the BBC.
Joanne was nominated for her award by head teacher Ty Golding, who said: "Still only in her second year of teaching, Joanne is an inspiration, not just to the children in her class but to her colleagues and the wider school community.”
The Pearson Teaching Awards is an annual celebration of exceptional teachers and teaching.
