WELSH Government transport minister Edwina Hart AM has said her officials were meeting South East Wales Transport Alliance and Vale Council officers to review bus services.
The minister said options would be discussed and the potential of re-instating services in Barry and the rural Vale would be scrutinised.
Ms Hart said last week she would report on its findings when the work has been completed.
She said: “Our funding and support of bus services and community transport schemes is likely to come under considerable pressure, but the important thing is to maintain access to key services even in these difficult times. I will be reviewing all issues around the help and assistance we give to bus services in Wales.”
Jane Hutt said: “I welcome the commitment made by the transport minister, Edwina Hart AM, to review the impact of the loss of key bus routes and services across the Vale of Glamorgan.
“I want to assure my constituents that I am submitting to the Minister and the Vale Council, all the evidence I have received, to assist them in this vital review and I will report back on the findings to all those who have contacted me and to the wider community that has been affected including town and community councils.”
