AN ACTION For Children cycling team have completed their Barry Island to the Rock of Gibraltar challenge.
Barry dad and firefighter Mark Potter, wife Lin, their dog, and Neil Goodrich and Matthew Price hope their efforts will raise money for the Barry-based cause.
Mark said: “We'd once again like to thank everyone for their help and support during this charity event.
It has been hard, with a lot of things against us at times, but we stuck together and eventually made it.
There were a lot of trials along the way and days when we thought it we weren't going to be able to complete it.
The experience could have easily pulled us apart as a group, but it’s amazing what you can overcome with determination, patience and teamwork.
We stuck together, and pushed on, and achieved our goal of reaching Gibraltar, for Action For Children .
He added: “I think we come out of this better people for the experience, as you realise what you can endure, and the limits you can push yourself past when you work together.
It’s an experience that each one of us have found difficult in our own ways, but ultimately rewarding in the knowledge that we overcame the hurdles that came along by working together.
“There'll be no more bike riding for me for some time!”
