WALKERS burned off cake and chip calories by raising hundreds of pounds in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
The energetic fundraisers bagged £541 on an Alzheimer’s Memory Walk from Porthkerry to Barry Island on Sunday, September 8.
A cake sale and balloon release further boosted the collection and topped of a fantastic day as everyone wrote a message to their loved ones that were no longer with them and release it with a balloon.
The walk was organised by Craig O'Shea and his daughter Jessica who wanted to raise awareness for the Azheimer's Society following the loss of their father and grandfather Dennis to the cruel condition last September.
Craig thanked everyone who took part or made a donation with a special thanks to Ask Frank for their kind donation of the Alzheimer's sign and Sheila Walker for her delicious cakes.
