TWO Barry golfers achieved the rare feat of hole-in-one’s on the same day at the same golf course recently.
Gareth Tinnuche and Alun Sweeney achieved the honour at Brynhill Golf Club last month during the second Captains Prize day.
Gareth, who completed his hole-in-one on the third hole in a par three, said: “It was a strong wind, but there was one bounce and it went straight into the hole.
“There is no feeling like getting a hole-in-one.
“It was my second one, but my first in an official competition.”
Gareth, who has been playing golf for over 20 years, added: “When you get a hole-in-one it’s a great feeling.
“I would have one every day of the week if I could.”
Alun Sweeney completed his hole-in-one on the188 yard 12th hole with a five iron.
“It was my first hole in one and my first thought was ‘its about time’” he said.
“After the ball goes in the hole you think you have finally mastered the sport, but then I double bogeyed on the next hole and that brought me back down to earth with a bump.”
Alun, 56, added: “You just get a feeling of elation when it goes in after years of trying.”
As part of a sponsorship between Hugo Boss and Brynhill Golf Club both Gareth and Alun are set to receive watches as a reward for their hole-in-one’s.
