Thirds look forward after relegation escape

SULLY Centurions Cricket Club Thirds survived their relegation scare after St Fagans Fourths defaulted on Saturday's final league fixture.
Hopefully, there will be better fortunes next season when, with more players being regularly available, the side could easily push for promotion. A fair indication of their potential can be gained from this season's games against second-placed Whitchurch, with Centurions winning at home and losing narrowly away with a depleted side. And, with the prospect of youngsters coming through the ranks, there will be an optimistic outlook.
This season is nowhere near over, with four traditional September friendlies starting this Saturday with the visit of tourists Painswick from Stroud. Will all players inform David Sylvester of availability.
Saturday v Painswick (Sully at 1pm): From D W Sylvester, T Pascoe, T Davies, H Miller, E Davies, R Griffett, B Callow, Pavel, D Chalk, C Sleeth, L Bruce, B Spear, P Harrison, T Edwards and P Barnett.
Sunday v Aberdare (Sully at 1pm): From D W Sylvester, Pascoe, T Davies, J Griffett, N Jones, Callow, M Fisher, G Patel, Spear, E Davies, Pavel, Barnett, Sleeth, S Ellis, A Ashton and Joe.
