Firefighters use Harlem Shake to plug smoke alarm test

SOUTH Wales Fire and Rescue Service has joined in the Harlem Shake craze to promote the importance of testing smoke alarms.

Staff members across the service used the current viral craze in a video to promote the ‘test your smoke alarm’ message.

The video features staff dancing to the latest trend and holding ‘test your smoke alarm’ umbrellas, smoke alarms and smoke alarm testit sticks to promote the message: “Test your smoke alarm on test-it Tuesday.”

Chief fire officer at South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Huw Jakeway said: “The message within the video is a simple but serious one – test your smoke alarms once a week – it could save your life. A big well-done to everyone involved.”
