RESCUE: Five people were cut off by the incoming tide on Sully Island on Saturday afternoon
THREE people were rescued over the weekend in two coastal emergencies in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Five people were cut off by the incoming tide on Sully Island on Saturday afternoon. Although four managed to cross the causeway, a fifth person was rescued by the Penarth lifeboat.
One person was taken to the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff said to be suffering from mild hypothermia.
Two people stranded by the tide on rocks at Dunraven Bay were rescued by the Llantwit Major Coastguard.
The pair were taken to hospital by an RAF helicopter.
