Try losing weight with help of new Barry classes!

BARRY residents have been encouraged to get fit in the New Year by attending two new Slimming World classes.
Bro Radio presenter Steve ‘Wiggy’ Wiggins and Rhoose mum-of-three Teresa Stewart are both launching new classes in Barry next Wednesday (January 2).
Both successful Slimming World members themselves after joining the group in January 2012, they are hoping to use their experiences to help new members lose weight in the New Year.
For Wiggy, formerly of Real Radio who now heads up Bro Radio's Breakfast Show, the decision to join Slimming World came when he was working on the set of popular TV soap 'Pobol y Cwm'. He saw a photo of himself taken by the producer and said he was ‘horrified’ to see how much weight he had put on.
"My friend Angie had lost weight successfully in a group in Brackla and I decided to go to the next group with her," he said.
"After just four months with the expert help of my Slimming World consultant and the other members, I had lost three stone!"
After finding himself increasingly supporting the members in his Brackla group, Steve made the decision to join the Slimming World team as a consultant.
Teresa said that her weight problems began eight years ago following the birth of her daughter and that she had become ‘increasingly unfit’ and ‘avoided activities that would make me tired and out of breath’.
"I decided it was time to change my life for the better, and that meant starting with my weight. I wanted more from life and I wanted the 'old me' back again," she said.
"I was nervous about starting on my own, and embarrassed, but I needn't have been. I was made to feel so welcome, and Annamarie, my consultant, reassured me and put me at ease."
After losing two and a half stone, Teresa has taken the next step and decided to train as a Slimming World consultant.
She added: "I’m looking forward to relaunching the group that I attended as a member, and continuing my exciting journey with Slimming World."
CLASSES Because of the New Year's Day bank holiday, both Teresa's and Steve's groups will open at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 2.
Steve's group will be in the Cwm Talwg pub, Severn Avenue, and Teresa's group will be in Barry RFC, Merthyr Dyfan Road.
After that first week, Wiggy's group will be on Mondays at 7.30pm and Teresa's on Tuesdays at 7.30pm. Wiggy can be contacted on 07970 450694 and Teresa can be contacted on 07889 828401
