BARRY residents have been encouraged to burn off those mince pies and sign up for a festive fun run.
The Jingle Bell Jog will take place on Barry Island on Sunday (December 16).
The one mile run will start near the Dolphin Bar, run down towards Marco's Cafe, back up to the Eastern promenade and finish near the Dolphin bar.
Registration will be from 10am onwards, with the race starting at 11am.
Each adult participant will be given a free Santa outfit to complete the race in, as well as a goody bag after the race, with children encouraged to wear fancy dress.
The run has been jointly organised by the British Heart Foundation and the Vale of Glamorgan Council, with the hope that the run can become an annual event.
It will raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru's Mending Broken Hearts Appeal and is part of the Vale of Glamorgan Heart Borough activities.
Jayne Lewis, BHF Cymru's local fundraising and volunteering manager, said: "We hope as many people as possible will come and support us.
"The more the merrier!"
She added: "This is a fun event for the family and you can walk or run around the route.
"Money raised will go to the BHF's biggest ever fundraising appeal - Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
"This appeal will fund a groundbreaking research programme that could end suffering caused by severe heart failure Ð a condition which, at present, there is no cure for. We hope this appeal will help end the suffering caused and bring hope to many people and their families."
Entry is £5, every adult will get a free Santa suit and children (aged under 14) enter for free.
