Fundraising night in memory of popular Barry man James Stacey

A FUNDRAISING memorial night is set to celebrate the life of James Stacey, who died tragically at a disused factory near Bristol a year ago.

The event, at the Glenbrook Inn on Friday (November 9), will help family provide for James' and his partner Hannah Stokes' three-year-old daughter Molly.

Dad-of-one James, described as a 'gentleman' and a popular 'Coldbrook Boy', was 31 when he died in an incident involving a digger at the disused Somerdale factory on the former Cadbury plant in Keynsham, on November 9 last year.

An inquest was opened and has been adjourned until Avon and Somerset Police and health and safety investigations have been completed.

Hannah, 28, credits little Molly with ‘keeping her strong’ since the tragedy, and said the youngster had brought joy to the family, both before and since they lost James.

"She puts a spring in my step," she said. Glenbrook Inn cook and event organiser Tracey Sherlock and staff plan to lay on a buffet and raffle on Friday evening, and band Spellbound will perform.

Hannah, along with James' mum and dad Gill and Jim Stacey, said they would like to thank Tracey, her Glenbrook colleagues, and all those who have given their support.

James' Memorial Night takes place at the Glenbrook Inn, Dobbins Road, from 7pm until late this Friday (November 9) and all are welcome to attend.
