- I am your neighbourhood officer and the point of contact for your neighbourhood policing team. Together with other Police Community Support Officers and Police Officers on the team, we want to deal with the issues that concern you the most. It is important to us that we understand and respond to your needs and so I would encourage you to attend your local PACT meeting, the details of which can be found on this site, or to contact me directly using the telephone number or e-mail address provided. I look forward to meeting you soon
About this neighbourhood
Castleland is a large and diverse ward covering many different housing, retail and commercial developments within the Vale of Glamorgan. The ward also houses the Main offices for the vale Council.
Although the ward does not benefit from a school, it has a range of restaurants, a leisure centre and many community facilities. In addition to these there are garages, retail supermarkets and doctors' surgeries.
The ward also includes the Associated British Ports estate right through to the Bendricks and Atlantic Trading estate at Sully. Part of the dock yard is still very much a working part of Barry and thriving.
The ward encompasses the main Town centre of Barry and it has seen significant changes with retail and housing developments on the Docks which has changed beyond recognition from its heyday as an exporter of coal.
