ROOTED is an arm of the Barry Folk Club that will appeal to a broader spectrum of roots based musicians and songwriters.
The Barry Folk Club, hosted by Geoff Peart, meets at the Glenbrook Inn, Dobbins Road, Palmerston, every second Tuesday.
Rooted will meet every last Tuesday of the month at 8.15pm starting on November 28. It will be hosted by local musician and songwriter Paul Duggan.
It’s expected that musicians from all roots genres from blues and country to folk and world music will attend as well as songwriters with original material.
Mr Duggan said: “We hope to see some local singer/songwriters come along because while it’s great to acknowledge musical roots and heroes it’s very important to cultivate originality locally and encourage it to go from strength to strength.”
