THREE recognised soloists will get together to perform in a Barry church as part of the Barry Arts Festival 2017.

Jess Robinson, Emyr Wyn Jones, and Jeff Howard will bring opera, musical theatre and crossover pop to St Mary’s church, in Holton Road.

Jess has performed at the festival before – scoring a standing ovation, at the Buccaneer pub, with a programme ranging from Handel to Son of a Preacher Man.

Emyr has been recognised as an emerging talent of great promise this week. The bass-baritone from Aberdare who started singing through the Only Boys Aloud scheme won the prestigious Young Welsh Opera Singer prize worth £2,000, fighting off experienced soloists Rhodri Prys Jones and Eirlys Williams. Cardiff-born, Jeff has accompanied leading international singers including Bryn Terfel, Sir Willard White and Dennis O’Neill.

The event takes place at St Mary’s church, Holton Road, at 7.30pm on Sunday, September 9.
