THE New Theatre has announced seven new shows heading to Cardiff.

On Thursday, July 20, X Factor's Joe McElderry will head to the theatre to perform.

Then from Monday, September 11 to Saturday, September 16, The Wipers Times will be performed. The comedy from Private Eye's Ian Hislop and Nick Newman is adapted from the award-winning BBC film.

Based on the true story of a satirical newspaper created in the mayhem of the Somme, it’s interspersed with comic sketches and spoofs from the vivid imagination of those on the front line.

In Around The World in 80 Days, the wealthy Phileas Fogg wagers his life’s fortune that he can circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days.

A new production, it features a cast of eight playing more than 50 characters including six trains, five boats, four fights, three dances, two circus acts and an elephant.

The show will be performed from Tuesday, September 19 to Sunday, September 24.

Willy Russell's Blood Brothers heads back to Cardiff to tell the tale of twins, who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.

The score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and Tell Me It’s Not True.

The show returns from Tuesday, September 26 to Saturday, September 30.

Since its Broadway premiere in 1966, Cabaret has won a number of stage and screen awards including eight Oscars, seven BAFTAs and 13 Tonys.

It features songs including Money Makes The World Go Round, Two Ladies, Maybe This Time and of course, Cabaret.

It is at the New Theatre from Tuesday, October 17 to Saturday, October 21.

Cilla tells the story of one of the UK’s best-loved entertainers. Now for the first time her life and music will be celebrated on stage in this new show, which will be in Cardiff from Tuesday, October 31 to Saturday, November 4.

Legally Blonde comes to the theatre from Monday, November 20 to Saturday, November 25. Starring Rita Simons (EastEnders’ Roxy Mitchell) this hit Broadway and West End musical is based on the film.
