MEMO Arts Theatre, Barry, will be screening the National Theatre performance of Hedda Gabler as well showing Hacksaw Ridge and Gold.

On Thursday, March 9, Tony Award-winning director Ivo van Hove (A View from the Bridge at the Young Vic Theatre) returns to National Theatre Live screens with a modern production of Ibsen’s work.

Hedda and Tesman have just returned from their honeymoon and the relationship is already in trouble. Trapped but determined, Hedda tries to control those around her, only to see her own world unravel.

The screening starts at 7pm and tickets cost £10.

On Friday, March 10, Saturday, March 11 and Monday, March 13, will be Gold (15).

Kenny Wells has lost everything. A hustler and a dreamer, he’s waiting for a break that just won’t come.

In desperation, he heads to the Indonesian jungle, hunting for ‘Gold’. Teaming up with an equally luckless geologist, they set up in the jungle and begin their search.

Against all odds, they strike gold – possibly the biggest find of the decade. And even a little gold can change everything about a person.

Also screening on Friday until Thursday, March 16 - excluding Tuesday and Wednesday - will be Fifty Shades Darker (18).

After breaking up with Christian, Ana is trying to move on from their relationship.

But events turn ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ when he reappears, wanting her back in his life.

This time, Ana doesn’t want any rules, any punishments, or any secrets. But that might prove difficult as the demons in Christian’s past – and the other women he’s been with – come back to haunt him.

They’ve just gotten back together, but will they be torn apart a second time?

Advance tickets for film screenings cost £6, £4 for concessions and for 15 films £3 for under-16s. Door tickets cost £6.50, £4.50 for concessions and £3.50 for under-16s.
