MEMO Arts Centre, Barry, will screen a live performance from the National Theatre.

On Thursday, February 2, the National Theatre will perform Amadeus.

Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones, NT Live: The Comedy of Errors) plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s play, broadcast live from the National Theatre, and with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a young prodigy, arrives in Vienna, the music capital of the world – and he’s determined to make a splash.

Awestruck by his genius, court composer Antonio Salieri has the power to promote his talent or destroy his name. Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God.

After winning multiple Olivier and Tony Awards when it had its premiere at the National Theatre in 1979, Amadeus was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film.

Tickets cost £13 or £11 for concessions.

Then on Wednesday, February 8, there will be a screening of the Royal Ballet's Woolf Works.

The literary work of Virginia Woolf is the inspiration for multi-award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor's triptych for The Royal Ballet.

McGregor has long been at the cutting edge of ballet, working with collaborators from across the artistic world, and in this critically acclaimed work he combines themes from three of Woolf's landmark novels – Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves – with elements of her letters, essays and diaries.

Acclaimed British composer Max Richter (Infra, Sum and Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons) creates a specially commissioned score incorporating electronic and live music.

Tickets cost £15 and £12.50 for concessions.

Oscar nominated film La La Land will be screened at the Memo from Friday, February 3, to Thursday, February 9.

La La Land follows the entwined stories of Mia, an aspiring actress who serves coffee between auditions, and Sebastian, a jazz pianist confined to playing the hits in dingy bars.

A romance begins between the two of them, and they’re happy for the first time in a long time. But as they finally find success, the dreams they’ve pursued for so long threaten to tear them apart.

Advance tickets cost £6, £4 for concessions and £3 for under-16s and door tickets cost £6.50, £4.50 for concessions and £3.50 for under-16s.
