THREE award-winning musicians from the Flatlands of the US are preparing to perform in Barry's West End Club.

The Corn Potato String Band are a talented trio who have kept old time fiddle and banjo music from a one-way trip to the dustbins of history.

Essentially unable to cope with modern life, the members of this band are outcasts of society who survive by playing the lost music of the Flatlands where they were raised.

They are all multi-instrumentalists, who in addition to being champion fiddlers also play banjo, guitar and bass and deftly handle many antiquated styles including ballads, hoe-downs, country rags and southern gospel, specialising in twin fiddle and banjo tunes.

The Corn Potato String Band includes Aaron Jonah Lewis, Lindsay McCaw and Ben Belcher.

They will be supported by Buffalo Creek.

Don't miss their performance on Friday, October 16, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets are available from Barry West End Club and Tony on 07814 003126.
