AMELIA Trust Farm has plenty of fun activities for children over the weekend.

The Amelia Trust is a working farm set on 160 acres of countryside in the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan. Visitors are invited to see, hear and smell a working farm, which is providing an alternative education for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people working with skilled staff and volunteers.

The farm is a charity that receives no core funding and relies heavily on donations from members of the public. There is no entry fee but visitors are asked to make a donation for car parking.

They have a fantastic play area for children and a selection of animals to see including pigs, goats and donkeys.

Every Saturday and Wednesday children can “Meet The Animals” on a guided tour at 1.30pm and 2.30pm. Spaces on the tour are limited so it is advised to call to reserve your child’s space in advance. Tours cost £3 per child. To reserve your space call 01446 782030.

They also have their Fairy and Gnome trail through the woodlands, this costs £2 per child with a prize at the end.

Another popular activity is their Farm Bingo. Again this costs £2 per child and sets children with the challenge of spotting as many of the creatures pictured on the bingo sheets as possible during their visit to the Farm with a prize at the end.

Both the Fairy and Gnome Trail and Farm Bingo sheets can be purchased from the Farm Café.

After visiting the Farm children can enter their Summer Drawing competition where they can draw a picture of their favourite animal. They will be announcing the winners after the summer holidays.
