THE Barry at War group is holding an illustrated presentation by Alun Salisbury for the centenary year of the Great War of Gallipoli campaign.

The talk will be held at Barry Island Station/Museum on Thursday, April 23 at 7pm.

The talk will look at the British and French navies’ and armies’ involvement in the campaign, and also the role of Paddle Steamer Barry, the last vessel to leave the shore of the Gallipoli Peninsular, and in the Second World War it was renamed HMS Snaefell and her deployment was rescuing troops from Dunkirk.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome with the museum open from 6.30pm.
