ST Cadoc’s Church Cadoxton is preparing for Christmas and is pushing the boat out this year.
Not only will the three day event feature a concert with Barry Brass Band leading an evening of seasonal music in Music Hall style but the church will be decorated to take advantage both of the season and its stories and to bring out some of its architectural features.
Although it’s only a small church there will be plenty to see and enjoy for everyone. Amongst the characters and scenarios illustrated are carols, songs, the Christmas story itself and of course Nicholas, both Saint and Santa.
The inspiration for this festival comes from that often seen in country houses which have a special winter opening week when the house is decorated, often perhaps, slightly over elaborately for Christmas.
The festival begins on Thursday, December 4 and runs until Saturday 6 from 11am until 4pm each day.
The Victorian Evening on Friday 5 is at 7pm and on Saturday 6 is Evening Prayer at 6pm, which will be accompanied by musical mediations from Simon Carter, violinist.
Admission is £5 for adults and accompanying children are free. Tickets will be available at the door. Tickets for the Victorian Evening are also £5 for adults and children cost £1.50 and are available on the door.
