CADOXTON Primary School pupils will visit the Getting Ready for Christmas Festival in the village church of St Cadoc where the school choir will perform at 11am when it opens on Thursday, December 4.

The Festival runs until Saturday, December 6 and is open from 11am until 4pm with entry costing £5 and accompanying children are free.

At the festival you’ll see displays including a fireplace with Yule log an stockings, a bag of reindeer treats and something for Santa.

Inside the building you’ll find Santa parachuting in and his other guise St Nicholas, there are also bishop’s ‘hats’ to try on.

A selection of drawings by pupils of Cadoxton School will be on display, depicting the nativity scene together with a frieze showing the journey of the other characters in the Christmas Story.

Other things to see are the representations of the Wise Men’s gifts and a puzzle showing the family tree of Jesus. Swirling above are angels ‘in flight’ as well as illustrations from the ’12 days of Christmas’ song and the carol ‘I saw three ships’.

In this centenary year of the Great War the Parish War Memorial is also being ‘decorated’ as we recall both the men away and the families left at home.
