SAGE Francis will make his debut performance in Cardiff on Sunday, October 19. The rapper, poet, and spoken work aficionado from across the pond will perform at The Globe, Cardiff.

He has become a central figure in the slam poetry scene, broken genre constraints through his release Human The Death Dance (on punk label Epitaph), and set up the uber-respected independent imprint Strange Famous Records, one which affords him unanimous control of his own stunning creations and allows him to foster the growth of forward-thinking artists who similarly evade corporate involvement in music.

Sage’s unshackled bars of varying subject matter and tone sit powerfully atop a diverse selection of beats influenced by numerous styles and eras. Talk of love, politics, society, race, gender, and equality all feature on tracks where the lines between darkness and light, anger and serenity, and tragedy and comedy are beautifully blurred.

Dubbed by many as the greatest lyricist of his generation, Sage Francis brings his mesmerising brand of urban story-telling to our city for the first time. This show will make you bop your head and move your feet as much as it will make you shudder in the wake of its lexicon. We urge you not miss it.

Tickets to see Sage Francis cost £13 in advance. Online tickets are available from seetickets at www.seetickets.com and gigantic at www.gigantic.com or from Spillers Records or The Globe Theatre.
