A FAMILY adventure is set to take place at The Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny for the Easter holidays with the return of the ever popular Wild Wednesday.

As the countryside begins to spring into colour following the recent cold weather, the Brecon Beacons and Monmouthshire National Trust team is preparing to welcome lots of feet as families get out and explore this Easter holiday.

By transforming St Mary’s Vale at the foot of the Sugar Loaf into nature’s playground, Wild Wednesday participants will get the chance to build a den, create some wild art or simply soak up the atmosphere and get closer to nature.

If the lack of green space has been the reason for not getting outside with the kids, Wild Wednesday, taking place on April 4, is the answer.

The ranger led activities are part of the National Trust’s 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ campaign where kids have the chance to discover new adventures and explore the countryside.

Featuring a variety of nature themed and bush craft activities, children taking part will be given their own 50 things booklet, along with stickers for each activity they complete.

Nature lovers of all ages will be welcomed and encouraged to release their creativity using natural materials on the doorstep.

Wild Wednesday on the Sugar Loaf takes place from 10.30am to 3pm. Appropriate clothing and a picnic is essential.
