VISITORS to the Newbridge Memo will be able to take a special tour looking into the history of the building on January 15.

The Heritage Experience is an immersive journey through time, telling the story of the creation, demise and final restoration of one of Wales’ most iconic buildings, the Grade II listed Newbridge Memorial Hall.

The building was created by the miners of Newbridge and dedicated to the men who lost their lives in the First Wold War World War I.

The whole tour experience is designed to bring visitors closer to the community and examine its desires, ambitions and dreams.

The tour on January 15 at 2pm costs £5 per person and aims to give people an insight into the Memo’s past and history of how it was in past years.

When visitor’s join the tour, the journey will take them back in the time around ‘The Memo’.

You will have the chance to sit back, relax and take in a short film in the beautiful auditorium and explore time’s ghostly footprints in the elegant ballroom.

Your experience will end with a cup of tea or coffee and the chance for you to have your say on what you think is important for the future of the building.

The Regular Heritage Experience Tours are available throughout the year and are suitable for all ages from 10 and above.

The experience lasts up to 70 minutes.

There are stairs throughout the route but alternative routes are available for those with limited mobility.

Anyone who wants to take part in the tour but has mobility issues is asked to raise any requirements with the Memo at the time of booking so staff can best accommodate to your needs.
