OUR three wishes of a fabulous cast, sparkling costumes and a stunning set have all been granted with The Riverfront’s annual pantomime.

This year’s festive offering, in association with the Production Exchange, is the magical Aladdin, which is on now until January 7. The professional cast and crew have been working hard in rehearsals at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre to create a sparkling pantomime to show its adoring public.

The hero Aladdin, played by the dashing Nickcolia King-N’Da, will be flying his magic carpet for 57 shows in total. He is joined on The Riverfront stage by two of the most popular cast members from last year, the lovable rogue Richard Elis as the Genie and Liam Tobin as the hilarious Widow Twankey. Dafydd Gwyn Howells has joined the cast this year as the big, bad baddie Abanazar and there will be light relief in the form of everyone’s best friend Wishee Washee played by Aisha Numah. The beautiful princess Jasmine is played by the equally beautiful Jazmin Hudson-Owen and completing the cast is the wicked Empress Chinn played by Sunny Yeo.

The story of this year’s Aladdin follows lots of colourful characters who join our hero as he struggles to see that good is rewarded and that bad is punished. There’s wicked Abanazar who tells everyone that he is the long-lost brother of Widow Twankey’s late-departed brother Dafydd. There’s the beautiful Princess Jasmine and her slightly domineering mother the Empress Chinn. And at Suds-U-Like Laundry poor old Widow Twankey and Wishee Washee must wash a mountain of smalls for the Royal Wedding.

The annual family favourite is once again produced by The Riverfront and Production Exchange, the team that produced last year’s best-ever selling Cinderella. Suitable for all ages, tickets ranging in price from £6 to £20.50 with group and family ticket discounts.
