wmbran based choir, Côr Aduniad came together following a chance meeting in a pub on Christmas Eve 2013 between the old Llantarnam School Choir Master and an ex pupil, a reunion concert was planned. Through the power of Facebook, the following Easter saw a 65-member strong choir perform a concert with proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation and RNLI, with members travelling from all over the country to sing with their old-school friends.

Since then, the local members have kept the choir going, adopting the name Côr Aduniad (Reunion Choir). Over the years, they have raised money for various charities including Prostate Cymru, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Togs, and most recently, Ffion’s Gift.

In 2015, the choir went on their first tour, travelling to Belgium and performing in front of the Menin Gate, and have another tour lined up for 2018.

Last year, the choir entered their first competition, The Choir of The Year, at St. David’s Hall, Cardiff.

The choir, now smaller than at their initial conception, have a broad repertoire, including songs from stage and screen, as well as working intensely on Choral Classics, including original pieces written by the Choir Director, Geraint Davies, and choir member Jack White.

They are set to record an album at the Wales Millennium Centre on April 29 featuring an array of songs from their repertoire, and then performing a concert at Cwmbran Workingmen’s Club in Old Cwmbran on April 30th, tickets cost £5 to showcase the songs from the forthcoming CD.
