THE Memo Arts Centre, Barry, will welcome three acoustic guitarists on Tuesday, March 28, for an evening of Celtic Guitar Journeys.

Soig Sibéril from Brittany, Ian Melrose from Scotland and Dylan Fowler from Wales, are all international soloists in their own right. The three will collaborate together to perform music inspired by their Celtic roots.

Tickets cost £12 or £10 for concessions

On Thursday, March 30, there will be a screening of the Royal Opera's Madama Butterfly.

Puccini’s Madama Butterfly is one of the most popular of all operas, with the story of a loving geisha deserted by her American husband.

Soprano Ermonela Jaho sings the title role for the first time at Covent Garden, in Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier's production.

Tickets cost £15 or £12.50 for concessions.

Then screening on Friday, March 31, Monday, April 3, Tuesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 6, will be Viceroy's House (12A).

Viceroy’s House in Delhi was the home of the British rulers of India.

After 300 years, that rule was coming to an end. For six months in 1947, Lord Mountbatten, great grandson of Queen Victoria, assumed the post of the last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people.

The film’s story unfolds within that great house.

Upstairs lived Mountbatten together with his wife and daughter; downstairs lived their 500 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants.

As the political elite - Nehru, Jinnah and Gandhi - converged on the House to wrangle over the birth of independent India, conflict erupted.

A decision was taken to divide the country and create a new Muslim homeland: Pakistan. It was a decision whose consequences reverberate to this day.

Tickets in advance cost £6, £4 for concessions and £3 for under-16s or on the door at £6.50, £4.50 for concessions and £3.50 for under-16s.
