Steps will headline Tawe Fest
IF you’re travelling to the West of Wales this August Bank Holiday; Singleton Park, Swansea, is definitely the place to be if you love music.
Tawe Fest is a spectacular music festival catering for just about everyone and everybody over just three days. Saturday is perfect for rock fans young and old with Status Quo top of the bill.
The band will make the journey west to play to thousands of fans at Singleton Park on Saturday, August 25.
Special guests include the legendary Wishbone Ash and Buffalo Summer, and there are number of other major bands yet to be announced.
Sunday, August 26 sees pop phenomenon, Steps, headlining Tawe Fest as part of their reunion tour. Their live shows captured the hearts of fans, selling out multiple dates at venues nationwide, making them one of the most successful acts on tour.
Again there will be a host of special guests to make this one of the most sought after pop bills in theUKthis summer, including Alexandra Burke and The Loveable Rogues who were hugely successful on the recent series of Britain’s Got Talent, making their way to the live Grand Final.XFactor 2011 finalists The Risk have also confirmed their participation, together with hotlytipped local Swansea lads Karl Morgan and his band The Click, and Ollie Garland.
Concluding the Bank Holiday music extravaganza on Monday, August 27, thousands of people are expected to pack up the picnic hampers and the champers and come together for the Welsh Battle Proms. This picnic and firework concert promises an unrivalled blend of musical talent, expert displays, spectacular pyrotechnics, plus a fewthunderous surprises.
There will be a full twohour programme of exquisite classical music performed by the Welsh Battle Proms Orchestra, including Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave), and Massenet’s Meditation from Thaïs, plus, of course, an abundance of Welsh favourites including Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau featuring the wonderful Welsh soprano,Gwaer Edwards .
To round off this day of Welsh patriotic fervour, Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Only Boys Aloud, complete this amazing day.
