MERCURY Music Prize nominee Kathryn Williams and her new band The Pond come to Cardiff Bay this autumn.

Williams’ second album, Little Black Numbers, was shortlisted for the prestigious award in 2000, losing out to Badly Drawn Boy.

The artist has also collaborated and appeared on records by John Martyn, Bombay Bicycle Club, Marry Waterson and Neill MacColl, with whom she released the album Two.

Williams has played live with KT Tunstall, Ray Lamontagne and Martha Wainwright.

New project The Pond sees her team up with Simon Edwards, the bass great (who has played with Billy Bragg and was a founding member of Fairground Attraction) and Ginny Clee.

They will be at the Glee Club, Cardiff, on Sunday, October 21.
