MANCHESTER four-piece The Courteeners are playing a gig at Bristol O2 Academy in March as part of a major UK tour to promote their second album due for release next month.

Falcon is the follow-up to St Jude, a huge hit for the band in 2008 reaching No 4 in the UK top ten.

This new record was produced by Ed Buller (Suede, Pulp) and their new single You Overdid It Doll from the album is due out on February 15.

The Courteeners ended 2009 by playing the biggest concert of their career to date.

The gig in their home city at Manchester Central sold out all 10,000 tickets within five days of going on sale.
