THE Memo Arts Centre, Barry, will show two films and a National Theatre performance between Friday, March 17 to Thursday, March 23.

On Friday, March 17 and Monday, March 20, they will screen Hidden Figures (PG).

Hidden Figures is the true story of Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson, three African-American women who played a pivotal role in the birth of NASA’s space program.

NASA are putting a man on top of a missile and shooting it into space: they’ve never done it before and it’s dangerous. They need the best mathematicians and engineers they can find, which gives these three women a long-overdue chance to prove their value.

Then on Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21, will be 20th Century Women (15).

Set in Southern California in 1979, a time brimming with change and the possibility of rebellion, 20th Century Women tells the stories of three women, each from a different era.

Dorothea is a single mother in her 50s, trying to raise her teenage son. Struggling to do it alone, she teams up with Abbie and Julie to teach him about men, women, love, freedom, and life itself.

Tickets for either screening cost £6, £4 for concession of £3 for under-16s in advance or £6.50, £4.50 for concessions or £3.50 for under-16s on the door.

Then on Thursday, March 23, the Memo will screen National Theatre's performance of Saint Joan Encore.

Bernard Shaw’s play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France. As one of the first Protestants and nationalists, she threatens the very fabric of the feudal society and the Catholic Church across Europe.
