THE last Enfys Craft Fair of this year will be held on Saturday, December 3.

As it is almost time for Christmas this fair will be filled with gifts and personalised greetings cards for you to buy.

Hot and cold food, drinks and cakes will be available all day long and entry is free. Ann Thomas will be in the kitchen to cook up a number of meals for visitors. Alongside Ann will be Louise as she produces cakes served on bone china plates with a napkin and pastry fork.

Enfys are pleased to announce the Barry branch of the NCI (National Coastwatch Institution) as their charity for December.

Nell's Point coastwatch station, the first NCI station established on the Welsh coast, is built on the site of a derelict coastguard station.

It was built to a high standard with funding from the Welsh Assembly Government and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Nell's Point coast watch station can be found between Whitmore Bay and Jackson's Bay following the path from the beach.

The National Coastwatch Institution is a voluntary organisation which was set up in 1994 to restore a visual watch around the UK shores.

Today there are 49 stations keeping watch along the coast line.

Each station is manned by fully trained volunteers who keep a daily watch 365 days a year. Each station is responsible for their own funding.

The watchkeepers are the eyes and ears along the coast and remain vigilant at all times, trained to act in an emergency and if required, coordinate with the search and rescue services.

The fair will be held at St Francis Millennium Hall, Park Road, Barry from 10am until 4pm.

The next craft fair will take place on February 4, 2017, and for more information contact Reg Lyons on 01446 792149.
