THE English Youth Ballet is back in Cardiff to perform their new production of the famous ballet The Sleeping Beauty.

After a short absence, the ballet company are heading back to the New Theatre on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13.

International principal dancers will perform alongside 100 young dancers from the Cardiff area during the production.

Amy Drew, Adele Robbins, Oliver Speers, Brendan Bratulic, Steven Wheeler and Monica Tapiador dance the leading roles in a new production of one of the most famous ballets. As Aurora pricks her finger the curse of the wicked Aunt Carabosse comes true until the Prince awakes her with a kiss.

Now in its 18th year, English Youth Ballet has gained in popularity and established a reputation for classic and dramatic productions of the famous full-length classical ballets.

The policy of the English Youth Ballet is to perform full length ballet productions in theatres outside London, giving young talented dancers an opportunity to perform within a professional setting.
