WEST End and Broadway hit Shadowlands comes to the New Theatre from Tuesday, June 21 to Saturday, June 25.

William Nicholson’s stunning drama poses classic questions about religion, pain and love, through childhood innocence and the wonder of late-flowering love.

Based on fact, this touching story follows CS Lewis (author of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe), living as a distinguished academic bachelor in Oxford. Lewis is comfortable in his life at Oxford University, until poet Joy Davison and her young son enter his life.

The play raises important questions about religion, humanity and society through a gripping story of love, belief and pain.

An ensemble cast is headlined by distinguished actors Stephen Boxer (RSC, Humans, Poldark), Amanda Ryan (The Forsyte Saga, Shameless) and Denis Lill (The Royal).

The play, which has gone on to win multiple awards, was adapted from its original incarnation as a TV drama. It has also been adapted into a film starring Anthony Hopkins, picking up multiple BAFTA and US awards.

Tickets are on sale now from £8.50 to £26.00, bookings are subject to a Ticketing Service Charge - exemptions apply. For further details about the show or to book tickets visit newtheatrecardiff.co.uk or call the Box Office on 029 2087 8889.
