NEW Theatre, Cardiff, has lined-up an incredible programme of shows for 2016 - with June and July being packed with unmissable theatre.

Half-term is the perfect time for Cinderella, the evergreen story of the girl who becomes a princess. This enchanting musical, presented by Cardiff’s number one amateur company Orbit Theatre, is guaranteed to break even the hardest of hearts from Wednesday, June 1 to Sunday, June 5.

As part of Cardiff’s first-ever Festival of Voice, the New Theatre is privileged to present a one-night-only performance from the legendary Juliette Gréco on Saturday, June 11. This rare UK appearance from the French chanteuse is an evening not to be missed.

Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller The 39 Steps arrives in Cardiff from Tuesday, June 14 to Saturday, June 18 June. Brilliantly and hilariously recreated for the stage, it’s a gripping comedy full of dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women. Four characters…130 characters…100 hilarious minutes.

Shadowlands, appearing at the New from Tuesday, June 21 to Saturday, June 25 is the love story of CS Lewis – author of The Chronicles of Narnia – and American poet Joy Davidson. Seen through the eyes of a child, this is a powerful drama about the beautiful wonder of late-flowering love.

Direct from the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End, Guys and Dolls from Tuesday, July 5 to Saturday, July 9 is the sizzling New York tale of gamblers, gangsters and nightclub singers, featuring show-stopping tunes such as Luck be a Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat and My Time of Day.

Antony Costa from Blue stars in Save the Last Dance for Me, taking you back through the music and magic of the early 60s from Monday, July 25 to Saturday, July 30. This nostalgic, feel-good journey will transport you back to music‘s golden era as we follow two teenage sisters through the summer of ’63.
