ST DAVID’S Hall has announced their new spring and summer 2016 season.

It offers a sensational selection of soothing shows that will provide the prefect chance to unwind amid the sounds of serene strings and piano keys.

Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral Choir, will perform on Tuesday, March 15, and will be joined by the Choristers of St John’s College and the Metropolitan Consort for the heart-warming Music for Easter concert featuring renditions of Bach and Mozart.

A week later the supremely talented organist Catherine Ennis, on Tuesday, March 22, will also perform Bach amongst others. Plus, the internationally renowned pianist Joseph Tong delivers his breathtaking interpretations of Debussy, Sibelius and Schubert on Tuesday, April 12.

Likewise, Debussy is also on the repertoire for the Boyd Duo along with Bach and Rachmaninov on Tuesday, April 19. The Erato Piano Trio who will perform on Tuesday, May 3, have captivated audiences across Europe and now you can experience their outstanding musicianship with a compelling programme of Haydn, Suk and Ravel.

Similarly, the Artesian Quartet, on Tuesday, May 10, will perform Haydn alongside Beethoven. The season finalises with Cardiff violinist Lowri Porter, on Tuesday, May 31, teaming up with pianist Lada Valesova to take on Beethoven, Messiaen and Janacek.

Yet if you want to experience something a bit different, why not try the Contemporary Lunchtime Concert with the Arcomis Ensemble on Saturday, April 30. They will be performing the exciting and innovative music of Reich, Stravinsky and Arvo Pärt.

Supported by the Arts Council of Wales, the idea behind the Contemporary Lunchtime Concert series is simple – arrive at the Hall in time for the 1pm performance and pay what you feel is appropriate – you may just love it.

Before each performance a mouth-watering selection of sandwiches, hot drinks and hand-made cakes will be available from the arts café Celf on Level 4.

Delicious speciality Welsh cheese and antipasti platters can be booked in advance.

Tickets cost £5.75 and £4.75 for concessions when booked in advance and £6.75 or £5.75 for concessions on the day of the concert.
