ON APRIL 15, Dyffryn Gardens is throwing open its doors to visitors for free as part of National Gardening Week and to get families outdoors and celebrating spring.

They are joining in with National Gardening Week to celebrate all things horticultural and to show off their enormous gardens to people who may not have visited before.

Geraldine Donovan, general manager at Dyffryn Gardens said “It’s a great way to let people who haven’t visited us before see what Dyffryn and the National Trust is all about. You can explore our enormous gardens and arboretum, and visit the exotic plants in our enormous glasshouse as we officially wave goodbye to the cold and hello to spring.”

With gardens as big as 28 football fields there is plenty to explore including ponds, pools, secret garden rooms, an arboretum, two walled gardens and an enormous glasshouse to name a few, you’ll be busy all day.

National Gardening Week was launched four years ago and since then has grown into the country’s biggest celebration of gardening. Thousands of people, gardens, charities, retailers, culture and heritage organisations and groups get involved. This is the second year that Dyffryn will be taking part and opening its doors.
