PENARTH Pier Pavilion will be celebrating science with a series of family events over the Easter holidays.

Celebrating Science is a series of events to mark the centenary of Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity, which is being celebrated across the globe.

The events including stargazing and hands on science shows promising to stretch the minds of future scientists, as well as their imaginations.

On Tuesday, April 5, the Pavilion will be hosting a stargazing night with Dark Sky Wales. Stargazing at the Pavilion will offer audiences a chance to look out at the stars across the Bristol Channel with expert guidance and equipment as well as talk on the night sky inside the Pavilion.

We are all familiar with the stunning views across the channel from the Pavilion during the day but there are wonders to be seen once the night falls across the water.

Following on from a successful fun day held at the Pavilion during the February Half-Term the Pavilion will once again be welcoming families to the Gallery for a series of activities including hands on experiments and crafts.

Mad Science, the world’s leading science education providers, will also be joining the team for three interactive and awe-inspiring shows in the Cinema at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on Thursday, April 7.

Rounding off the week there will be the monthly Pavilion event Beach Treasures on Saturday, April 9, in which Dr Christian Baars hosts a free drop in session for people to learn more about geology and archaeology through the things found on the beach.

Tickets for all events are available from penarthpierpavilion.co.uk
